With a lot of people close to me deciding to go on long-term missions trips, this song seems to mean more to me than it did before.
Steven Curtis Chapman \ Big Story
I hear the rulers of another world
Like distant voices in the wind
They say there is a story being told
Bigger than I can comprehend
And in the rumors I can hear an invitation calling
This is the big story
There is a God who’s in control
Telling the big story
And He wants us to know
We will find ourselves
When we lose ourselves
In the bigger story
Come and take your place in the story
We all live in this place called the here and now
We see what’s right before our eyes
But right here, right now heaven’s coming down, all around
God’s story is coming alive
And in this moment, if we listen, we can hear Him calling
This is the big story
There is a God who’s in control
Telling the big story
And He wants us to know
We will find ourselves
When we lose ourselves
In the bigger story
Come and take your place in the story
Captivating, fascinating
All consuming, never concluding
The One and Only, ever unfolding
Story of stories
The big, big story…
Everyone is taking their place in the Big Story! My prayer is for God to show me my own place in it, and help me be patient (and busy) while awaiting His answer.
Thanks!
Christian, oh Christian,
How I love thee.
You are so much cooler,
Than we shall ever see!
Christian, oh Christian,
You are so cheap.
The D’backs must score tons,
For us to be able to eat!
Christian, oh Christian,
You love to go hiking.
Too bad we never went,
Somewhere more to our liking.
Christian, oh Christian,
You wear Dennis’ trunks.
They are so short!
You are absolutely nuts!
Christian, oh Christian,
We shall miss thee.
But I’m sure you’ll have fun,
Being a missionary!

Hey guys! I thought it would be interesting to get your opinion on something. I’ve been thinking about what I want to do when I “grow up”. I would really appreciate hearing what you could see me doing!
This is not meant to be taken extremely seriously…I’m not going to limit my view to only what you guys say. I just thought it would be fun to see what you think. ;)

Hey guys! I’ve never been very good at making sure I get my devotions done; I’m not even sure why! Today I was looking through iTunes’ podcast directory, and I found two really cool ones that I subscribed too.
(If you don’t know what a podcast is, look here)
A Word from the Word
Dan Hayden’s two-minute daily feature that explores the meaning of a single word from Scripture. Much more than a devotional – it’s a Bible-based truth revealed through credible, reliable study.
A Year in the New Testament
Listen to the entire New Testament in one year, one chapter per weekday, 3-6 minutes each. A wonderful modern English translation, not a paraphrase, that is incredibly simple to understand, and therefore very enjoyable to listen to. The translation recommended by Billy Graham! Because it is just one chapter per day, it’s so quick to download and listen to. We recommend you listen to each chapter several times a day since they’re so short. Even non-believers will enjoy this, and it’s a great way to discover the truth about Jesus/God without someone else’s interpretation or influence. As they say, get it from the horse’s mouth!
Both are really awesome! The first one goes over every single word in the Bible, one a day. It’s really good for memorizing what’s going on, because it repeats the context tons of times while you listen to it. Plus the audio, combined with reading, helps you really visualize what it’s talking about. The second one has very little commentary, and is basically just a guy reading. But again, the audio helps you remember and understand what’s going on. It’s so cool! Oh, and you don’t need an iPod to get them, just the iTunes software. :)
AND IT’S FREE! :D
